BUILD42 / PRIVACY NOTICE

Your running stays yours.

Build42 makes and tracks your plan on your device. It does not send your workouts or plan to us for coaching. You can review optional feedback before choosing to send it.

Effective 2 October 2026 · App notice version private-test-terms-1.0.3 · iPhone, iPad and Android closed test

01 / WHO IS RESPONSIBLE

Build42 and the closed test

Build42 is provided by Paul Conby trading as Project42 Apps. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected] or use the Project42 Apps contact form and choose Build42. The closed test is for invited people who are at least 18 and have reached the age of majority where they live. Build42 does not knowingly invite children to use this test.

This notice covers the Build42 app on iPhone, iPad and Android. The separate website contact-form notice explains how general website enquiries are handled.

02 / YOUR DEVICE

Running information stays on your device

With your permission, Build42 can read running workouts from Apple Health or exercise-session and distance records from Health Connect. You can instead tell Build42 about your recent running without connecting either service. Build42 uses your goal, running background, available days, planned holidays, lighter periods and answers to create and track a training plan on your device. Your plans, saved plans, imported running records held by Build42, check-ins, preferences and acceptance record are stored locally. We do not receive your individual Health records, running history or complete plan for coaching, and the app does not use a remote AI service to generate a plan.

Access to Apple Health or Health Connect is optional and separate from accepting the app terms. Before Build42 first reads workouts, it asks for a separate, unticked choice to use that data locally. The health service then manages its own permission. In Settings you can withdraw Build42's choice and remove its local copy; you can also change access in the health service. Removing Build42's local copy does not remove records held by Apple Health or Health Connect. Your device's backup or transfer settings may make copies under Apple or Google's terms; Build42 does not operate a plan-sync service.

For ordinary personal information needed to build the local plan you request, we rely on providing the app service under our agreement with you. For imported running workouts treated as special-category health data, we rely on your separate explicit consent. You can withdraw that choice in Settings. This stops further Build42 Health imports and removes the current local imported records; it does not undo processing that happened before withdrawal or erase an existing plan derived from them. The app's Health choice, platform Health permission and app terms acceptance are separate.

The training-availability question asks only whether you can fit planned running into your life. It does not ask why or request symptoms or diagnoses. Choosing a lighter period, later start or pause changes the schedule, not a medical assessment. An optional post-run check-in asks how a run felt, using one of five ratings from “Very Good” to “Very Tough”. Build42 stores this answer on your device with the matched run and plan session to show your recorded progress. It does not use either answer to diagnose an injury or infer a medical condition. A runner's response may nonetheless reveal something about their physical condition; do not treat the question as a request for medical advice. Both choices are optional features of the local planning and progress service you ask us to provide. The separate imported-workout consent does not cover these self-reported answers.

Earlier app versions may have saved an injury-labelled answer locally; Build42 preserves existing local records on update. If you used an earlier version, you can remove all local Build42 data using the Settings control described below. This notice does not retrospectively classify older injury-labelled answers as non-sensitive.

03 / OPTIONAL FEEDBACK

What you choose to send

Build42 does not require an account. If you tap Send to Build42, the report you review is transmitted over HTTPS to our private feedback service hosted by Supabase. It contains your message, category, screen, app version, platform and build number. Optional diagnostics can include Health-link state, running-history source, goal distance and mode, available-day count, whether a plan exists and its session count, tester access and calendar-sync state. Individual Health samples, complete plans, event names, calendar contents and the text of saved answers are not automatically attached. Please do not put detailed medical information in the free-text message.

Before sending, the app asks whether your message contains health or injury details. If you declare that it does, a separate unticked consent is required for that report. The report carries the declared answer and, where relevant, the consent version and time; it does not add Health samples. The app cannot reliably classify every free-text message, so please answer accurately and omit details that are not needed.

You may separately provide an email address and agree to follow-up on that report. You can save an email preference on your device for later reports; each report still requires its own Send action. Copy and Share do not send a report to us. An unsent retry copy may remain on your device until submission succeeds or you remove local app data.

For an optional report that you ask us to receive, we rely on your consent to use the submitted content for support and improvement. If you choose email follow-up, we rely on that separate choice to contact you. If a report contains health or injury details, we also rely on your explicit consent for those details. You may withdraw consent for a submitted report by contacting us; we may need its approximate date, follow-up email or a short description to locate it.

We use feedback for private-test support, issue investigation and product improvement, not advertising, data brokerage or remote automated coaching. The database is hosted in Supabase's EU North region. A live hourly job was verified on 2 October 2026 to remove raw feedback and linked triage records older than 12 months; recent runs succeeded. The hosting region does not mean that all support and network processing stays there. Supabase and Cloudflare may use providers or locations outside your country; their data-processing terms describe the safeguards they use. These include the Supabase data-processing addendum and Cloudflare data-processing addendum.

The app also reads a basic private-test status from the service so it can show whether testing is active or an update is needed. This check does not send your running history or plan. The service provider may process connection information needed to provide and secure the service.

04 / YOUR CONTROL

Remove data and exercise your rights

In Settings, Leave private test and remove my data removes Build42's local plans, imported workouts held by Build42, answers, check-ins, settings, acceptance and feedback drafts. You can then delete the app. This does not remove original records from Apple Health or Health Connect, device backups, or feedback already submitted to us.

To ask about or request deletion of submitted feedback, contact us using the details above. If you supplied a follow-up email, give that address, the approximate submission date and a short description so we can locate the report. Do not send passwords or extra health details. We may need further information if we cannot reliably identify a report. There is no Build42 account to delete.

Depending on where you live and the processing involved, you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where it is the basis used. Contact us to make a request. People in the UK may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Mandatory local privacy rights remain available; this notice does not remove them.

05 / THIS WEBSITE

Other services

The Build42 website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views and performance without analytics cookies or cross-site visitor tracking, as described in the current website notice. Cloudflare and our hosting provider may process connection information needed to deliver and protect the pages. The website contact form is separate from the app's feedback service; read the contact-form privacy notice before using it. Apple, Google and your device provider process information under their own privacy terms when you use their store, testing, backup or health services.

Changes to this notice

We will update the date and version when this notice changes. A material change to the in-app notice requires a fresh acceptance before the app creates or changes a plan. An ordinary app update should not by itself ask for repeat acceptance of an unchanged version.
