About this policy
Cards Compendium is a card-game learning and scorekeeping app from Project42 Apps. This policy covers iOS and Android test versions, our related website pages and support. Version 0.5 uses bundled rules and demonstrations. Version 0.6 introduces online video lessons and downloads, described below. Project42 Apps is responsible for information you send us. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions.
Information on your device
The app saves the group and event names, player names or nicknames, games played, result dates and finishing orders that you enter in the Tracker. These records stay in local app storage; the app does not send them to Project42 Apps or operate an online leaderboard. You can use nicknames instead of real names. The app reads its version and build number to display them for support.
What the app does not collect
The reviewed test versions have no sign-in or user accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, developer-operated crash reporting, location services or social sharing. They do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or photos. The rules and Tracker work offline. Version 0.5 also has bundled offline demonstrations. Version 0.6 uses the online delivery described below for video lessons. The reviewed test versions do not process in-app purchases; any purchase preview is not a completed store transaction. We do not sell app data or use it for advertising.
Online video lessons in version 0.6
Versions with video lessons request a lesson catalogue and selected media from media.project42apps.com over HTTPS. Cloudflare delivers these files and processes connection information such as IP address, requested file, request time and technical request headers to deliver and secure the service. This can reveal which lesson is requested. Cloudflare can infer an approximate country or region from the IP address and use request information for service analytics and security. These are delivery-service records, not an advertising profile. You can use the rules and Tracker without opening video lessons. We do not promise immediate deletion of Cloudflare security or operational logs; their retention follows the provider’s service policies. The app does not attach Tracker records, player names, an app account or an advertising identifier to these requests. Downloaded videos and a cached catalogue are stored in the app’s local files. Use Remove in a downloaded lesson to delete that local video. Online delivery records are handled by Cloudflare under its service and privacy terms; they are not a player profile or an online scoreboard. The app does not request GPS location. Streaming and new downloads need an internet connection; an existing valid download can play offline.
Device backups and store services
Apple, Google or your device provider may include local app data in backups or device transfers, depending on your settings. Cards Compendium does not provide its own cloud synchronisation. Apple and Google separately operate their stores, testing and diagnostic services under their own privacy policies. If you choose to send beta feedback, screenshots or diagnostic information through those services, the information made available to the developer may be used to investigate the reported issue.
Beta access and support
If you contact us, we use your email address and the information you choose to send to answer your request. For a requested Android test invitation, we use the Google Play account email you provide to manage access in Google Play. Website enquiries may also include your name, chosen app, device platform and message. Providing these details does not subscribe you to marketing. Please omit passwords, payment details and other sensitive information. Crop or remove player names from screenshots where possible.
Website visits
The Project42 Apps website is separate from the app. Cloudflare delivers the website and its media and may process connection information, including your IP address, for delivery and security. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics without analytics cookies or cross-site visitor tracking. The contact form uses Cloudflare spam protection. We do not send contact-form names, email addresses or message contents to web analytics. The website analytics and contact-form scripts are not embedded in Cards Compendium.
Retention and deletion
Local Tracker records remain until you replace them or remove the app data. On Android, Settings > Apps > Cards Compendium > Storage > Clear storage removes the app’s local records; wording varies by device. On iOS, deleting the app removes its local data; offloading the app keeps its data. Clearing storage or deleting the app is irreversible unless you have a suitable backup. Device backups may retain a copy under your backup provider’s settings. We cannot remotely access or erase your local Tracker records. We keep support correspondence only while needed to resolve your enquiry and test-access details while needed to manage your requested testing. You can ask us to delete correspondence or remove your tester access at [email protected]. No app account exists to delete.
Your choices and rights
We use information you send us for our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, arranging requested beta access, investigating issues and protecting our services. Service providers, including Cloudflare, Apple, Google and email providers, may process relevant information outside the UK under their data-protection arrangements. You can ask to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, or object to its use, by emailing [email protected]. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Parents and carers
Player names and results stay on the device, so nicknames are a useful choice for family games. The website contact form and beta-access requests are for adults. Parents and carers should use their own contact details and avoid sending children’s personal information. Contact us if a child has sent us personal information so we can address the request.
Changes
Last updated 18 October 2026. If the app’s data use changes, we will update this policy and the relevant store declarations before releasing that change. This policy describes the current app rather than planned features.
